A Sleighing Good Time

Looking for a little lesbian Christmas tale to warm you up during the cool, holiday season? A Sleighing Good Time is now available from eXtasy publications!

Gina has a surprise in store for her lover, Mariah, as they celebrate their first Christmas living together. Somewhere between the silver bells, slippery tinsel, and snowflakes, the spirit of Christmas ignites their passion and love for one another. There’s more than one way to stay warm in winter.

Excerpt:

Gina tugged on the dainty hoop with her teeth, growling playfully. Her fingers traced along the delicate line of her collarbone. A light layer of goose bumps formed along her bronze skin, bringing her nipples to full attention.
“Reward for your naughty behavior is a thousand lashings…with my tongue.” She pulled Mariah down to the floor, sprinkling tinsel across her body. “You’re the kind of gift I like to unwrap, every day of the year.”
Her fingers nestled beneath heavy denim fabric, working the first button free. White lace suggestively peeked out, tempting her further. The next four buttons came undone with a sense of urgency, followed by an arousing scent of peppermint.
“New shaving cream?”
“Mm hmm.”
“I love it when you shave down there.”
“Wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Gina worked the jeans down along Mariah’s thighs, taking her time. Long, lithe legs she loved to spread. When she got the denim to her ankles, she pulled them off her feet and tossed them aside. She wove her finger underneath the white lace to test the waters. A wet stream told her all she needed to know.
“Ready for those lashings now?”

First review of A Haunting in the Cathouse

I was very pleased with my first review of A Haunting in the Cathouse from JERR :)

Title: A Haunting in the Cathouse
Author: Ann Cory
Publisher: eXtasy Books
Publisher URL: www.Extasybooks.com
ISBN: N/A
Reviewer: Oleta M. Blaylock
Rating: 4 Stars
Heat Level: S

Michael has come to The Cathouse with his friend on Halloween. He is surprised at the number of people that are in the house. He was sure it was a deserted old house. As Michael and his friend explore the place, they find clues about what may have happened to the house. Michael wants to find out as much as he can but his friend just wants to get laid. When the guys go upstairs a door opens and Michael’s friend can’t pass up the invitation. Left to his own devices, Michael goes back downstairs and runs into Alicia. There is something about the woman that draws him to her. But there is a secret about the house that may pull these two lovers apart.

A Haunting in the Cathouse is a story of eternal and ever lasting love. This short book surprised me with its ending which says something. Ms. Cory has done a very good job of describing the house and what is going on while the guys are there. She has also fleshed out the main characters very well given the length of the book. I wish that her love scenes had been a little longer and spicier, but that doesn’t mean that they weren’t passionate. If you are looking for a quick enjoyable paranormal then this is the book for you.

Erotic Fiction Publisher Adds New Definition of “Graphic”

Erotic Fiction Publisher Adds New Definition of “Graphic”

(GARIBALDI HIGHLANDS BC) November 18, 2005

One erotic fiction ebook publisher has traded ten thousand pictures for words with the release of a new Yaoi-style novel by award-winning bestseller Morgan Hawke.

“With the timely submission of popular author Morgan Hawke’s Yaoi tale, a new door was opened, and a market discovered,” said Stefani V. Kelsey, Editor-in-Chief for eXtasy Books(www.extasybooks.com). “The popularity of Manga-style art led to the conclusion that erotic novels in that vein would be well-received, and initial sales are proving that theory.”

Although the novels follow the narrative style of manga and its offshoots, the eXtasy line is written in tight, fast-paced prose. Even without the pictures, though, TORRID and its successors are certain to entertain fans of graphic novels. That was proven by the popularity of Hawke's Hungry Spirits, a romantic ménage written in the Manga style, and D.J. Manly's Vampire Lust and Brennus' Witch.

More titles are in progress, Kelsey said, including a paranormal, The Dragon's Disciple, from RWA Golden Leaf Winner and PEARL finalist Barbara Sheridan and author/artist Anne Cain, and Snagged, by dark fantasy author and 3D artist Jet Mykles. The novels are released simultaneously in both print and ebook formats so they can be made available immediately to the broadest range of readers. They are also printed in mass-market paperback trim rather than standard trade paperback.

The eXtasy Books imprint of Zumaya Publications of Garibaldi Highlands, British Columbia, was launched in January 2003. EXtasy's goal is to raise the bar on erotica, putting out quality books with sexual content rather than sexual content with a story around it. They specialize in books that eschew formula and break new ground, unlike many of their genre, and are proving a strong presence in an increasingly crowded field.

Writing stories in a contemporary setting

I recently had a contemporary paranormal called Redemption released.

Initially I was a bit wary of writing such a story in a contemporary setting as it meant I needed to use a real city. I needn’t have been concerned. Since I had lived in London, there were many places to choose from.

Since then, I have been motivated to write more stories in the contemporary period, but not necessarily in a real place.

For example, in my upcoming Tarot story called Love’s fortune, I researched the Smoky Mountains region. Then I made up a fictional town instead of a real one. Since I have never been there I felt safer with this option.

I also did this with my reindeer story. It’s set in a fictional part of Florida in a large field.

A question for you.
Do you make up places when you write a contemporary story?

A Word From The EEE

Some random thoughts...

1. Turn signals are not only optional in Virginia, if you use them, you confuse people. Same for if you hang back to let someone merge. They look at you as if they expect you to ram them or something. A dangerous game of Simon Sez.

2. There truly is no limit to stupidity. If you don't believe that, watch what happens in a mall parking lot on a daily basis.

3. If someone constantly brags about their intelligence, can you trust their source?

4. Nobody is ever bothered if you walk around looking pissy, but if you sing or dance in public, you're nuts.

5. If you preface anything with " I hate to say this..." then don't.

NEWS FROM FAWN

Happy November everyone!
I love this time of year - not just because of the upcoming holidays - I've really got a sweet tooth and love spending time in the kitchen - but because the holiday stories at eXtasy Books are coming out. My Christmas story, Under The Mistletoe, will be among those debuting in December. Santa's Helper was last year's Christmas naughty and the couple in Under The Mistletoe this year are just as lusty minded.
Here's a blurb to give you a hint: When Sonja Mercer finds out her new business partner is the notorious Donovan Dix, she leaves town to avoid meeting him. But Donovan is not only handsome and wealthy, he's shrewd. He learns Sonja's holiday plans and turns up at the same ski lodge as she, introducing himself as Joe and saying he's there on business. Sonja is immediately attracted to him and proceeds to seduce him - only to find his business is actually her. He thought they could meet on neutral ground, but Sonja is well past formalities with the man. In bed their passion nearly burns up the sheets and when Donovan tricks her into a kiss under the mistletoe, Sonja experiences a jolt of reality and realizes the deceitful "Joe" might be the man of her dreams.

Romantic Heterosexual Movies

This is a re-post from my personal blog entry of Saturday, April 16, 2005.

~

Okay...so I'm a bisexual who writes lesbian erotica. But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy a good romantic heterosexual movie. Last night I rented Continental Divide with Blair Brown and John Belushi - circa 1981. I could watch that movie a million times. It's one of my favorites. John Belushi is extremely funny in this movie.

Souchak (John Belushi) is a Chicago columnist for the Sun Times, as popular (or maybe more so) than Mike Royko was. He's sent to do a story on Nell (Blair Brown) who is an Eagle expert living deep in the Rocky Mountains. Opposites attract in this funny and touching story. John Belushi is no heart throb and Blair Brown is pretty, but not abnormally so - which makes this comedy even more refreshing.

Some other romantic movies I've loved are:

When Harry Met Sally - 1989 (Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan)

I love how these two reunite.

~

Love Jones - 1997 (Larenz Tate and Nia Long)

An African American drama that is intelligent and funny. Nia and Larenz are two physically beautiful human beings.

~

Something's Gotta Give - 2003 (Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton)

I adore Diane Keaton. She's my favorite actress. Jack Nicholson is great too, of course. I did have fantasies of Diane and Keanu Reeves ending up together. So often we get the older man/younger woman thing, and this was a nice change. Keanu can't act for shit, but he's damn cute. Diane looks great for her age. But it was nice to see Diane and Jack hit it off.

~

Manhattan - 1979 (Woody Allen and Mariel Hemingway)

Older man/younger woman is the ultimate in this film. (Woody dates a high schooler.) And even though I'm still weirded out that in real life Woody married his stepdaughter, you can't deny his talent. Manhattan is an excellent film.

What are some of your favorites?
